Product Overview
- The Fuse comes as a part of the Computed Tomography (CT) devices. The Computed Tomography (CT) is a computerized process of obtaining images or scanning the body parts by means of X-Rays. A stream of electrons produced by X-ray tube is accelerated to high velocities by an external high-voltage supply and collide with the target anode in the tube. The beam formed is focused on the patient, and X-Rays emerging from the patient carry the image information which can be stored in a film. A fuse is provided to prevent the high current from the external supply entering the device, should a short occur in the supply valves. The thin filament in a fuse heat up and melts or burns in case of excess current. Thus fuse stops the power supply by breaking the circuit, thus preventing a permanent damage to the unit and is an important protection device in medical operations.
