Product Overview
The Source Wheel Assembly consists of a U-wheel shell, double shielded ball bearing and a shim. It is a wheeled device typically mounted to a larger object that enables relatively easy rolling movement of the object. The casters are essentially housings that include a wheel and a mounting to install the caster to objects. The U-wheel shell is made of Nycast® Nyloil, which is high-strength polymer with enhanced wear and reduced friction properties. Nyloil is green in color and is designed for slightly higher load capabilities than other material. Ball Bearings are a type of rolling-element bearing that uses steel balls to maintain the separation between the moving parts of the bearing. The purpose of a ball bearing is to reduce rotational friction and support radial and axial loads. The most common material used for a bearing is 52100 chrome steel, which has a unique special steel with features of high wear resistance and good rolling fatigue strength. The shim is made of stainless steel, which offers a greater resistance to corrosion.
