Product Overview
Extension springs are also known as a tension spring with helical wound coils. The spring wire is wrapped tightly together to create tension. This extension springs comes with round closed loop ends (eyelets) throgh which it can be attached to the shaft of 0.38 inch diameter. The function of an extension spring is to provide extended force when the spring is pulled apart from its original length. This 10.75 inch long extension spring is made up of ASTM A228 grade Music wire of 0.068 inch diameter. The high quality steel wire gives it good exterior finish and rust proofing oil coating on the surface provides good corrossion resistance properties, which in turn leads to increased service life of the product. This extension spring provides a spring rate of 2.1 lb/in and is compatible for use in the cable arm assemblies of GE's Precision 500D X-Ray systems.
